Aquila’s Genuine Gut Soprano ukulele strings are handmade in Italy and constructed to the very same specifications of the early gut sets of the ‘Roaring Twenties’.

The exact re-creation of these historical sets through extensive archaeological research by Aquila Corde Armoniche, gives modern day uke enthusiasts the opportunity to enjoy the authentic sounds of the ukuleles played in those forgotten, yet magical times of the 20’s and 30’s in all their traditional glory.

Please Note : Natural gut strings have a shorter lifespan than Aquila Nylgut or standard nylon strings.

IMPORTANT – Natural Gut strings are liable to suffer from cutting edges. Before stringing your instrument, please make sure the nut and bridge are free from sharp edges and the nut grooves are not too deep and perfectly smooth. You can get rid of sharp edges with very fine grit sandpaper (600, for example) or the finest steelwool (000).
