Description

With Aquila’s superior Nylgut strings having taken the ukulele world by storm, their highly regarded brand has now gone one better with their new innovative ‘Red Series’ range.

Until now, it has always been necessary to increase a string’s gauge to reach lower frequencies, hence most Low G sets have previously included a wound string to achieve their purpose. Unfortunately an increase in string diameter also has the disadvantage of increasing internal dampening resulting in a less responsive, duller sound.

Using their unrivalled techniques in string manufacture, Aquila have conquered this age old problem by adding fine layers of copper powder to their already superior Nylgut strings, increasing their density without adding to their gauge.

With amazing results, Aquila’s Red Series strings now achieve a brighter, more powerful sound whilst being much more responsive across the entire range of the fretboard.

Red series also offer better intonation than traditional strings due to the fact they are thinner and do not have to be fretted as hard as traditional wound strings, which are also prone to oxidisation.

With their unique look and revolutionary approach, Aquila have risen to the challenge and produced another excellent string set which resolves the age old problem of ‘density versus string gauge’ and come up with fantastic results.

Tenor Tuning High G Red Series – Key of C

Pack Contains Ukulele Strings – G (High), C, E, A

To optimise the performance of Red Series strings, differing percentages of copper powder are used in each individual string, resulting in varying gradients of light to darker red across the set from A to G respectively. This fine tuning of the components of each string ensures a perfect balance across the set allowing each Red Series string to resonate perfectly, producing a unique sound like no other string on earth.
