Aquila Thunderbrown Strings – 166U

Created from plant-derived bio-elastomers, Aquila’s new Thunderbrown bass ukulele strings have a higher tension than their famous Thundergut, Thunder Red and Thunderblack sets and produce such a wonderfully powerful output, Thunderbrowns can also be installed on instruments with traditional soundboards and played without amplification.

Thunderbrown strings offer several advantages over traditional UBass strings as they do not suffer from the dreaded ‘sausaging effect’. This happens when a string’s gauge is permanently distorted and stretched out of shape when pulled by hand.

Thunderbrown strings provide the perfect slide for your fingers whilst traversing the fretboard and have a string gauge comparable to that of wound strings used in acoustic bass guitars.

With micronised copper blended in varying degrees throughout each string, Aquila have created their most powerful yet perfectly balanced string set allowing for better sound, increased stability and more accurate intonation for your bass uke.

The Aquila Thunderbrown 166U set is for 5 string bass ukuleles of 23″ scale.
