Available in one degree of tension, the Aquila Seta classical guitar set includes treble strings created from modified SuperNylgut with bass strings fashioned from high quality silverplated copper, wound on genuine silk.

The use of silk in the construction of the bass strings produces a mellow timbre with a particular sensitivity to vibrato, unseen in conventional plastic monofilaments.

The Seta set was created by Aquila as a modern novelty and was not designed as a re-creation of a historical set relating to a particular time period.

Note : Aquila advise this set to be used at a standard pitch of 435 Hz.

Due to the silk used in the construction of these strings, Aquila also advice that when not in use the wound bases should be downtuned a semitone to extend the life of the strings.

Aquila Site Note : The basses of this set are in real silk floss, which, being naturally produced by an insect, cannot be steadily regular in their gauge. As a consequence, it may happen that the bass strings at 12th fret may be flat or sharp to a certain extent. The limit accepted by us is of 8 cents more or less. Beyond this value, the string is considered non-compliant and it will be replaced.

Aquila would like to remind users that the degree of compensation introduced by the inclination of the bone of the bridge – which is calibrated to the modern strings with a core of Nylon – may not apply to strings with a core of natural silk.
