Description

Aquila’s Genuine Gut Soprano Banjolele strings are handmade in Italy and constructed to the very same specifications of the early gut sets of the ‘Roaring Twenties’.

The exact re-creation of these historical sets through extensive archaeological research by Aquila Corde Armoniche, gives modern day enthusiasts the opportunity to enjoy the authentic sounds of the banjo ukuleles played in those forgotten, yet magical times of the 20’s and 30’s in all their traditional glory.

Enjoy the beautiful timbres and natural tones exactly as experienced by musicians in the early stages of the development of the banjolele with Aquila’s historically authentic, natural gut soprano string sets.

These particular gut strings differ from the modern construction of stiff varnished gut strings and are created in order to provide the more authentic historical version of gut strings allowing the user to experiance the forgotten sounds that we can now enjoy only in the old records.

This natural gut set is for the Soprano Banjo Ukulele, otherwise known as the Banjolele or Banjouke with tuning as Standard Re-entrant High G – GCEA.

Aquila Code – 43U

Please Note : Natural gut strings have a shorter lifespan than Aquila Nylgut or standard nylon strings.

IMPORTANT – Natural Gut strings are liable to suffer from cutting edges. Before stringing your instrument, please make sure the nut and bridge are free from sharp edges and the nut grooves are not too deep and perfectly smooth. You can get rid of sharp edges with very fine grit sandpaper (600, for example) or the finest steelwool (000).
